Ash Pond Lining for Prayagraj Power Generation Co Ltd (NTPC)
In an effort to comply with environmental regulations and ensure the safety of surrounding ecosystems, Prayagraj Power Generation Co Ltd partnered with Balaji Construction for an ash pond lining project. The use of a 500-micron HDPE geomembrane was a crucial component of this initiative.
The management of ash disposal is critical in power generation, with potential risks of leachate contaminating local groundwater. The challenge was to create a reliable and impermeable barrier to contain ash and protect the environment.
Our HDPE geomembrane was selected for its excellent durability and resistance to environmental stresses. The installation process, currently under execution for 50,000 SQM, involves carefully laying out the geomembrane to create a secure barrier that prevents seepage.
This initiative not only enhances environmental safety but also ensures compliance with regulatory standards, thereby protecting local wildlife and water sources. The project is a testament to NTPC’s commitment to sustainability in energy production.
